Aaron Ramsey and Gareth Bale put their Premier League woes behind them to lead Wales to a first competitive home win in three years.

Wales did England, whom they meet at Wembley on Tuesday night, after denting Montenegro's Group G challenge in the Euro qualifiers after their shock 2-1 win at Cardiff City on Friday.

Arsenal's Ramsey - after his 8-2 drubbing at Manchester United last week - scored the winner from the brilliant Bale's cross.

That, added to Steve Morison's first international goal, gave Gary Speed's Wales their first points of this campaign.

Tottenham man Bale, beaten 5-1 by Manchester City last week, said: "We felt that performance has been coming. It's been a lot of hard work.

"We don't have any fear when we play England now."

Skipper Ramsey added: "Gareth took on players for fun and that was the player that won Player of the Year.

"It gives us great confidence for Tuesday. Playing England will be tough but we beat good opposition today so that gives us great heart."

It was not all good news for Wales, with Craig Bellamy and David Vaughan ruled out of next week's crunch game after getting booked.

And Speed claimed the referee "robbed" Bellamy of that chance.

He said: "To play England at Wembley doesn't happen very often. Craig's wasn't even a foul let alone a yellow card so to rob him of that is very harsh. I think the referee realised his mistake."
